The Lisa Tape.

A photo collection for Lisa Waganman (you may know her as Lisa Merrill), assembled by everyone who has the photos she lost.

Some years ago, Stephen made Lisa a VHS tape. Photos of her, set to “In My Life” by The Beatles. By all reports, a really nice tape.

Lisa kept it in a box. The box was for special VHS tapes. The kind of box you do not throw out.

You can probably guess what happened to the box.

Years later, Lisa donated it to Goodwill. This is, statistically, the best tape someone has ever found at Goodwill. Whoever bought it has — by all reasonable indicators — kept it. They have taste.

Lisa does not currently own a VHS player. If she did, she would probably watch it. We are not going to recover the tape. We accept this. The tape is out there, having a good life, set to “In My Life,” and we wish it well.

Instead: this page. If you have a picture of Lisa from any era — high school, after, last week — send it in. We’ll put it up. A slideshow without the trip to Goodwill.

How to send a picture

Pick whichever is easiest. You don’t have to sort, scan, or label anything. Bad pictures are encouraged. The worse the better, honestly.

Text it

Easiest from any phone. Send the picture, no caption needed. A short note about who’s in it (and roughly when) helps, but isn’t required.

Email it

Photos, scans of yearbook pages, the back of a photo with a note on it — attach as much as you want.

iPhone, sending a lot?

Long-press a photo, hit Share, scroll to Copy iCloud Link, and text the link to 480-999-1637. They all come through at once.

We’ll add new pictures to the gallery as they come in. If you want yours taken down later, just say so — no questions, no awkwardness.
